The Songcatcher was a music programme for children featuring the Song Catcher, a magical, enigmatic character who roams far and wide in search of songs and catches them in her carpet bag.

It has been shown on "Daytime on Two" on BBC2 in the late 90's and early 2000's, CBBC on Choice have also screened The Songcatcher beginning Monday 2nd July 2001 at 8.45am, 11.45am, 2.45pm and 5.45pm until Friday 20th July 2001. It was repeated again from Monday 10th December 2001 - Friday 21st December 2001 at 8.20am, 11.20am, 2.20pm and 5.20pm. It has shown on the successors CBBC and CBeebies until 2007.
