Why Did the Chicken? was a British children's gameshow broadcast on BBC1 for 2 series and 26 episodes from 6 April 1994 to 8 June 1995 and was presented by Mark Evans.

Plot Edit

It was a kids gameshow based on farm animals. Kids won rather than points and the show ended with a rather silly egg hunt, notable because the was a giant decending hen above the nest where the kids put their eggs, and they could "boost up their bantam" (i.e. some extra time) by answering questions correctly. We bet he said "start the cluck!" as well.

Repeats Edit

It has been repeated once since first-run showings on BBC1 in 1994 and 1995, on satellite and cable TV channel Nickelodeon as part of CBBC on Nickelodeon in 1998 and 1999 between 9.00am - 10.00am in the morning and 2.30pm - 3.30pm in the afternoon, The competitions along with the address were edited out of the repeat runs as they had been closed by this point plus the address would be discontinued but the rest of the programme remained unedited, It has not been repeated since CBBC on Nick ended in 1999.
