Pablo the Little Red Fox
Pablo the Little Red Fox is a British animated cartoon series which originally ran from September 28 to November 17, 1999 in the United Kingdom and aired on CBBC and CBeebies for the first season. The main characters were the 3 little fox cub siblings named Pablo, Poppy and Pumpkin, their parents named Rose and Red, their friends, a cat named Finbar, an owl named Madam Owl, a seagull called Gil, a hedgehog named Helena, a frog called Fromage and a dog named Baxter. These characters were best friends.
The action was, unusually for such a program, placed in an (unnamed) town setting, featuring parks, rubbish tips, gardens and roads.
The graphic style of the cartoons was simple, with intense colours and pastel outlines, reminiscent of silk paintings.
In the United States, the series got an American dub using a British voice actors using an American with an American accents on Playhouse Disney in 2002. Only the first season was dubbed.
At one point, the shorts also aired on Playhouse Disney in the US dub of the UK show in the same year for Season 1 respectively in 2002 instead of the original UK version on CBBC and CBeebies in 1999. When it comes to this particular dub, while a lot of the original UK voices (David Holt, Louise Goldstein and Adrienne Posta) remained intact and some of the characters were re-dubbed to have an American with an American accents in the US dub by The Character Development and The Sound Company Ltd., with the voice actors including (Alan Marriott, Lorelei King and David Menkin). In addition, all the words are pronounced in the British pronunciations were redubbed given American pronunciations, but the original UK version can be still found online. The American voice editing was done by The Character Development and The Sound Company Ltd.. The difference is that Pablo and Pumpkin had an American with an American accents and Poppy has an Irish with an Irish accent. Bob Saker, Adrienne Posta, Kate Harbour, Eve Karpf, David Holt, Louise Goldstein and Stuart Lock reprising their roles as Finbar, Madam Owl, Gil, Pablo, Poppy and Pumpkin's Mum and Dad, Helena, Fromage, Baxter and Various from the first season of the original. Finbar, Madam Owl, Gil, Pablo, Poppy and Pumpkin's Mum and Dad, Helena, Fromage, Baxter and Various are the only characters who aren't re-dubbed. The shorts aired on CBBC and CBeebies in the UK in 1999.
